I'm from Missouri, the "Show-Me State", and I'd love to show YOU.
I use (mostly) White Pine wood for all my handmade wood crafted rocking horses, rocking motorcycles, rocking elephants, rocking airplanes, and lastly, the rocking donkey. Most of my rockers are shipped fully assembled, some will require minor assembly using screws for accurate part location, this gives a better fit for the safety sake of the kids. All the joints are screwed and glued (less any parts needing customer assembly) to make them strong and long lasting. The bird houses, in most cases, have White Pine bodies, with natural Shake Cedar roofs. Oak is available (extra $), if desirable, on special request, for most of my items. All of my rocking horse toy rockers are top coated with generally 3 coats of child-safe polyurethane. It is hard, durable, waterproof (wet diapers?), and long lasting. For the bird houses, I use a UV resistant and weatherproof exterior grade polyurethane. On some products, as noted in the individual descriptions, finished colors can be of your choice.
